Hello Fans of the Squeezettes, and fans of the former Riverwest Accordion Club, and NEW fans as well! We want to thank you for checking us out, here's a little bit about us...
The Squeezettes are a branch off the Riverwest Accordion Club that started way back @ 2000, with a dream, a pint of beer and some potlucks. (see link)
http://www.onmilwaukee.com/music/articles/riverwestaccordian.html
After a few years of "Clubbin" we took a break, streamlined down the group to about 5 core members and guest players every now and again - So, The Squeezettes were born!
"Milwaukee's only all female accordion group" - Sarah (aka Ms. Bubbles Galore!),
Linda (Miz...Tiny Bubbles) and Pamela (aka Ms. Big Surprise!) are the gals on the squeezebox. Sarah runs the lead vocal front of the bunch, with the gals doing some swinging background - Meoooooowww, Meoooooows etc.
Mike C. our Tuba player is a brew master at heart, but knows how to belch out a note or two hundered when we say "pretty please", or when a few "Shots for the Tuba Player & Band" are available. Our newest addition is Mike E our drummer and vocalist, percussionist extraordinaire, we're glad to have him part of the group. We even have a CD for sale! - check out our Current Projects tab, or get one for yourselves at a show!
We are also pleased to know Tom Schwark who is local legend as a mandolin player & vocalist, with some of our larger gigs we have him croon out his 30's radio voice and play his mandolin licks.
